Trapdoor Smooth Projective Hash Functions

چکیده
Katz and Vaikuntanathan recently improved smooth projective hash functions in order to build oneround password-authenticated key exchange protocols (PAKE). To achieve security in the UC framework they allowed the simulator to extract the hashing key, which required simulation-sound non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that are unfortunately ine cient. We improve the way the latter extractability is obtained by introducing the notion of trapdoor smooth projective hash function (TSPHF). A TSPHF is an SPHF with a trapdoor, which may not allow to recover the complete hashing key, but which still allows to compute the hash value, which is enough for an application to PAKE with UC-security against static corruptions. We additionally show that TSPHFs yield zero-knowledge proofs in two ows, with straight-line extractability. Besides those quite interesting applications of TSPHF, we also show how to generically build them on languages of ciphertexts, using any ElGamal-like encryption. Our concrete instantiations lead to e cient one-round UC-secure PAKE, extractable zero-knowledge arguments, and veri able encryption of Waters signatures. In the case of the PAKE, our construction is the most e cient one-round UC-secure PAKE to date.

Lossy Trapdoor Functions from Smooth Homomorphic Hash Proof Systems
In STOC ’08, Peikert and Waters introduced a powerful new primitive called Lossy Trapdoor Functions (LTDFs). Since their introduction, lossy trapdoor functions have found many uses in cryptography. In the work of Peikert and Waters, lossy trapdoor functions were used to give an efficient construction of a chosen-ciphertext secure (IND-CCA2) cryptosystem. Lossy trapdoor functions were then shown...

متن کاملDual Projective Hashing and Its Applications - Lossy Trapdoor Functions and More
We introduce the notion of dual projective hashing. This is similar to Cramer-Shoup projective hashing, except that instead of smoothness, which stipulates that the output of the hash function looks random on NO instances, we require invertibility, which stipulates that the output of the hash function on NO instances uniquely determine the hashing key, and moreover, that there is a trapdoor whi...

متن کاملRelatively-Sound NIZKs and Password-Based Key-Exchange
We define a new notion of relatively-sound non-interactive zero-knowledge (NIZK) proofs, where a private verifier with access to a trapdoor continues to be sound even when the Adversary has access to simulated proofs and common reference strings. It is likely that this weaker notion of relative-soundness suffices in most applications that need simulation-soundness. We show that for certain lang...
